There is a misconception about being able to afford insurance. Many people think that they are saving money by not having it. The only problem with this reasoning is that one huge bill can wipe out all the money they had saved by not having insurance coverage. A person should consider getting private dental insurance even if it is only minimum coverage. The premium will not be that expensive and if you have a root canal or crown it will pay the huge expense. You can afford the cleanings out of pocket but you will save thousands when you need major dental work done.
