Finding a Doctor for Skin Tags Removal

I have had these annoying little bumps of skin on my stomach for as long as I can remember. I just recently learned that they are skin tags and completely unnecessary, although harmless. I am trying to find a doctor for skin tags removal. I have been looking on the Internet. I am not sure if this is some thing that a general practitioner can do or if I need to see a specialist such as a dermatologist. While I was looking, I also came across some sites that discuss doing it yourself. That would save me a bit of time and money so I think I will look into that option as well.
