When putting it would be best to keep your eye on the ball. Putting is close to a golfers goal so there is no space for error. This is a very crucial swing and would call for more control and approximations, unlike your typical simple golf swing you don’t need to have a big arc of a back swing or a strong downswing to it. In a normal stance, firmly grip the club and keep it an inch or two from the ball. Putting error always happens when one doesn’t keep their eye on the ball and keeps their gaze on their hands and grip. What beginners take for granted is when your eye is on the ball with a clear view of the cup you automatically makes approximations and adjust your putting. The sport of golf is the joining of the body and mind and not just physical abilities.
