Monitor your website if you’re hosting with WordPress

I read on the news that WordPress had a downtime problem. It seems millions of people host through wordpress.com–usually a blog. That’s pretty bad if you’re blog goes down, especially if you’re hosted through such a open source giant as wordpress. I do have one blog hosted there but I don’t pay much attention to it, and it doesn’t have very much traffic.

However, I do host other blogs and I also have some websites with a cheap hosting company. I’m using a free website monitoring service that notifies me by email when my site goes down. If I have a lot of downtime with a hosting company, I always try to find a better hosting company.
